Join over 1,000 attendees for two full days of outstanding professional development and networking.  SHRM-Atlanta is offering a wide variety of sessions covering HR competencies as well as personal development and strategic business content. 

 

Keynote Speakers:  On Monday, Bob Nelson will present solid research on Creating a Culture of Recognition.  Do your employees feel overworked and underappreciated?  Dr. Nelson will show how recognition represents the single most validated principle for driving performance. 

 

During the closing keynote on Tuesday, Don Waddell will share how Teamwork and Leadership at the Atlanta Hawks and the Atlanta Thrashers can model the skill sets your company needs to compete.  Whether on the ice, on the basketball court, or in the office, you can replicate these strategies for hiring staff, creating synergy and driving revenue.

 

Concurrent Sessions:  Choose from 64 concurrent sessions organized within 8 tracks over the two-day conference!  Tracks will be offered covering Business Operations & Strategy, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations & Communications, Employment Issues, HR & the Law, HR & the Bottom Line, Professional Development Leadership, and Business Leadership. 

 

CEU’s:  Earn up to 10 continuing education credits approved by HRCI.  At least 7 of these are available for strategic credit depending on which concurrent sessions you choose to attend.  At least 1, and possibly 2 CEUs, will be approved for International credit. 

 

What’s New in 2008: 

 

HR & The Bottom Line track offers sessions on Best Places to Work and how to use employee benefits to help keep employees happy, How to Help your Employees Prepare for Retirement, Investment Strategies for Retirement, Understanding the Bottom Line and how to help your company increase bottom line results, Prepare for the Unexpected Disaster, and How Smart Companies Leverage Diversity. 

 

Business Leadership track offers programming around Understanding Conflict and Preparation for Negotiation, Managers as Coaches, Keys to Developing Global Talent, Workplace Bullying and Promoting Workplace Civility, Incentives, Constructive Conflict Resolution, and Attracting Employees with Diversity Programs.

 

Professional Development Leadership track will be taught by Dale Carnegie instructors and will provide excerpts from actual Dale Carnegie courses.  Sessions will cover Team Member Engagement, Managing Without Authority, Creating an Executive Image, Stand and Deliver Presentations, Internal Conflict Resolution, Negotiating for Success, Effective Media Communication and Effective Time Management.
